Brief: Redesign the Candyman (2021) poster
As a fan of horror films, specifically the Black horror genre, I was incredibly excited to hear about the Candyman remake.
From the beginning of the project, I knew that I wanted to include a bee/wasp and the iconic hook. As I found reference images of bees that I liked, I realized that the stinger wasn't visible in any of them and I could use my hook images to create a "new breed" of bee.
The initial trailers for the film were made in a cut-out style animation and I wanted to replicate that feeling with the font I chose. As a finishing touch, I added the honey and blood as pops of color using spray paint brushes.
