HOME/PLACE: A Group Exhibition
HOME/PLACE was a group exhibition curated by Keiani Allen of new and recent works by Bay Area artists Adeeb Haidari, Dalia Aljawad, Jhene Matsuda, and Zoila Marquez. Held at a pop-up storefront in Old Oakland, (471B 9th. St Oakland, CA), the exhibition was on view from April 18th, 2026 through May 01, 2026.
Event Overview

The Art
Opening Reception
The opening reception of the event was a success, with 200+ people in attendance from the Oakland community and beyond. For the first time, three of the artists showed their art publicly—using HOME/PLACE as an avenue to talk to their friends, family, and art colleagues about their work.
Jam Session
In partnership with Speedy Prints, we hosted a jam session with two local guitarists and live screen-printing of a special HOME/PLACE illustrated t-shirt. To end the night, Speedy debuted his short BMX film, Dos Vatos.
Clay Play
Sculpture artist Dalia Aljawad led a clay hand-building workshop, showing how she creates her freeform, flowery pieces.
Closing Reception
In celebration of the artist's work and my curatorial debut, we invited our friends and family for a closing reception. Guest artist and documentarian Sophia Hawkins debuted her short film, "Where Is My Home?", for the very first time.
